Surface Pro 6 (2018): Quad-Core Power. Windows 11 Ready.
The sweet spot of the Surface line. The Refurbished Microsoft Surface Pro 6 pairs a stunning 12.3-inch 2736 x 1824 PixelSense display at 267 PPI with 8th-generation quad-core Intel Core i5 or i7 processors, Windows Hello face sign-in, and up to 13.5 hours of video playback — in a body that weighs just 1.7 lbs and is still fully supported on Windows 11 today.
At a Glance: Why Choose the Surface Pro 6?
- Officially Windows 11 Supported: Microsoft lists the Surface Pro 6 as compatible with Windows 11, so you get a current operating system and current security updates — not a dead end.
- Quad-Core 8th-Gen Intel: Core i5-8250U, i5-8350U, or i7-8650U. Double the cores of the previous generation, and a genuine step change for multitasking.
- 12.3" PixelSense at 267 PPI: 2736 x 1824 in a productivity-friendly 3:2 ratio with 10-point multi-touch — sharper than most laptop screens at any price.
- Windows Hello Face Sign-In: A 5MP infrared front camera unlocks the device just by looking at it, plus an 8MP autofocus rear camera that shoots 1080p video.
- 165° Kickstand & All-Day Battery: The full-friction hinge lays back nearly flat for inking, and the 45Wh battery is rated for up to 13.5 hours of local video playback.
Platinum or Black — and the i5 Runs Silent
The Surface Pro 6 introduced a striking black finish grown directly onto the magnesium enclosure, offered alongside the classic Platinum. We list both wherever Microsoft sold them. Worth knowing before you choose: the Core i5 models are completely fanless — no moving parts and no noise at all — while the Core i7 adds active cooling so it can hold its higher clock speeds under sustained load.
Good to Know Before You Buy
Connectivity is full-size USB 3.0, Mini DisplayPort, a microSDXC reader, a headphone jack, and the magnetic Surface Connect port — note there is no USB-C on this generation. The Surface Pen and Type Cover are sold separately, though any Surface Pro Type Cover from the Pro 3 onward will fit. And because the Surface Pro 5 and Pro 6 share a model number, we verify the 8th-generation processor on every single unit by hand rather than trusting the label — that is what Strictli Certified means.
